Highly rated Danish coach Fatah Abdirahman has rejected the opportunity to become Johannes Hoff Thorup's new assistant at Norwich City.
That's according to Fabrizio Romano, the 32-year-old was offered the opportunity to join succeed Narcis Pelach on Thorup's coaching team but has opted to remain with current employers Randers FC.
City reportedly offered Abdirahman a package to move to England, but he has decided to wait for another opportunity elsewhere.
It’s understood the Dane was under consideration by the Canaries, who have now headed in a different direction with their pursuit. An appointment is unlikely to be made ahead of Saturday’s clash with Hull. Talks with candidates are continuing.
Norwich's search for a new coach is continuing after Pelach departed last month to become head coach at Championship rivals Stoke. Academy manager Joe Shulburg has stepped up to Thorup's staff on an interim basis.

Fatah is a Danish coach assitant at Randers and is named to be the best young talented coach in Denmark.…
City have already named Tony Roberts as Paul Clements successor to become head of goalkeeping. The former AC Milan coach has been with Thorup for the last two Championship matchdays at Derby and Leeds United.
Thorup is also assisted by Glen Riddersholm, who offered an update at Friday's press conference about their pursuit of another first-team coach.
"I've had some good meetings, so it's about the final details. It's actually the same kind of process as the goalkeeper coach, we've taken our time because it's important that we get in the right personality which can support us in the best possible way," the Dane said.
"It should also be a person for the future of the club, but with the support from the academy coaches, we have the time that we need, and it will not be a rush. It won't be something we do overnight just to get it done.
"We are getting closer. Joe has been supporting as an assistant coach, and he will stay around the group when it makes sense - but it's important that he is there. What they've given to the group but also the coaching staff has been very good."
