Norwich City prospect Gabriel Forsyth played for Scotland's under-19s as they beat Azerbaijan 2-0.

The 18-year-old started in midfield for the young Tartan Army, trusted by new boss Neil MacFarlane in his first game in charge of the side.

Goals from Rory Wilson and Rudi Allan-Molotnikov secured the comfortable friendly victory for Scotland, who return to action against the Faroe Islands on Friday.

Forsyth has made four senior appearances for the Canaries since their 2024-25 campaign got underway at Oxford last month, making his debut there before earning a shock start the following week against Blackburn Rovers.

"He is a player for now but especially for the future," said City head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup after that Rovers start. "He can turn on one touch and accelerate the game."

Forsyth's compatriots could be in action this evening when the Scottish senior side face Poland in the Nations League. Angus Gunn, Grant Hanley and Kenny McLean have all been called up to Steve Clarke's squad, with kick-off at 7:45pm (UK).

Welsh under-18 winger Elliot Myles also featured for his country yesterday, playing from the start as they drew 0-0 with the Czech Republic. The Dragons are taking part in the Jezek Cup during the break, meaning three games in quick succession for Myles.

The 17-year-old is highly rated behind the scenes at Colney, earning a professional contract at the first available opportunity early this year. He's been training with City's first-team group, and made his professional debut in the Carabao Cup defeat of Stevenage.
