With Norwich City in for an eventful transfer deadline day, Samuel Seaman highlights five things fans should look out for.
Kamara closure
Although the excitement around deadline day will undoubtedly centre around arrivals, one potential exit that will claim plenty of attention is that of Abu Kamara.
The 21-year-old has been the subject of bids from Luton Town and Hull City, with both moving toward the figure Norwich hope to receive before fulfilling his transfer request. But Johannes Hoff Thorup was clear at his pre-Coventry press conference that they wouldn't sell for any less, so this could go down to the wire.
Either way it's a complex scenario to address for Ben Knapper, who won't want to be faced with a player keen to leave or a gap in the squad. A winger will be needed to replace Kamara if he leaves, and that may be the real determinant in this segment of the story.
Winger watch
On the subject of wide areas, the addition supporters appear to want most is that winger, not just as a Kamara replacement but regardless of his future.
With Jonathan Rowe departed, Christian Fassnacht injured and Onel Hernandez preferred on the left, the position has felt a gaping hole since the infamous debacle at Oxford United's Kassam Stadium. City have been exploring options, and Rowe was let go with the understanding that a substitute would arrive.
But with advances turned down for Rabbi Matondo and Jaidon Anthony, it's proving a tough pursuit behind the scenes at the Avant Training Centre. Thorup appeared to temper expectations when asked about the problem, and there is certainly an element of tension heading into deadline day.
This pursuit more than any this summer is in the balance, and Norwich will hope it falls their way before 11pm.
Signing Slimane
That winger search is in the balance, but a deal to recruit Sheffield United midfielder Anis Slimane is very much moving toward a conclusion.
The 23-year-old withdrew from the Blades' clash with Barnsley on Tuesday, prompting speculation from fans and news of the fact that Norwich were keen on his services. Head coach Chris Wilder confirmed as much post-match, and a deal has been progressing ever since.
There's still work for Knapper to do, but there is a good level of confidence behind the scenes that he will become a Canary before long. City will be keen to make sure of that after Thorup's assertion that a midfielder is needed, and it looks like their wish may well be granted.
The loan list
A situation bubbling under the dramatic first-team window has been work to find loans for the best of City's development crop.
The likes of Ken Aboh and Jaden Warner are expected to secure temporary departures to continue their development in a competitive first-team environment, while Jonathan Tomkinson, Finley Welch and Tony Springett will be allowed to leave on loan or permanently.
But with none of those deals confirmed yet and many of them close, it could be a busy day for academy announcements.
Sargent suitors
Perhaps Thorup wasn't entirely serious when he said that Josh Sargent was being locked in his basement to prevent a deadline day move, but it would certainly take a lot for him to be sold at this late stage.
City already rejected a bid worth £20million amid MLS interest earlier in the window, so it'll take a very large number indeed for them to lose their top scorer before January at the earliest.
That doesn't mean there won't be suitors scrambling for a late deal, however, and the American could find himself at the end of a classic last-ditch trail. It is unlikely that he leaves NR1, but with Premier League clubs swirling and nothing impossible in the final 24 hours, it's something to keep an eye on.
