Abu Kamara is edging closer to the Norwich City exit door as clubs continue to push to sign the wantaway winger before Friday's deadline.

As revealed on Monday, City received three bids from separate Championship clubs for the England U20 international believed to be from Hull, Luton Town and newly promoted Oxford United.

Hull are thought to be leading the race, but Luton could now step up their interest after Chiedozie Ogbene completed his move to Ipswich Town.

The distance between the interested parties and City's valuation of their academy graduate is thought to be closing. Kamara's preference is understood to be a move to Hull, but an agreement is yet to be struck.

It is now likely that Kamara exits Carrow Road before Friday's deadline, with negotiations between all parties ramping up in pursuit of an agreement. Norwich will hold out for their valuation, as they have throughout the summer on other deals.

Kamara has been omitted from the last two matchday squads as speculation around his future continues. City boss Johannes Hoff Thorup provided an update on his situation following their 4-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Premier League side Crystal Palace on Tuesday.

"I know there's interest, and there has been so far from the beginning of the window, but like I said, it requires a good offer, an offer that we can accept, an offer that we think is fair towards his value for the team.

"We have to wait and see but there is interest. But like I also said the other day, for now, he's not ready to play with the team.

"He's training every day with us, but all this happening to him is just a distraction we don't need. So that is why we left him at home. Let's see when the window closes where he is."

City are hoping to add a winger to their ranks before the deadline, with work continuing to add to their attacking ranks.

The Canaries are also working on a deal to sign Sheffield United central midfielder Anis Slimane ahead of the deadline. Conversations are currently centred around an initial loan with an option to buy, but no agreement has been struck, and all options are thought to be on the table.

Real Madrid's Reinier remains a player of interest for City, but a deal to bring the Brazilian to Carrow Road is complicated.
