After a busy start to the week for Norwich City, attentions turn to the Carabao Cup as they host League One side Stevenage at Carrow Road tonight.

With ongoing transfer sagas and news of a path to a takeover by Mark Attanasio's group, City will now be hoping to improve on the pitch and show progress under Johannes Hoff Thorup after a disappointing opening-day defeat at Oxford United.

The Canaries are likely to be without Adam Idah after the club reached an agreement with Scottish champions Celtic over a £9.5m deal for the 23-year-old to return to Glasgow permanently.

Jon Rowe, who withdrew from City's squad hours before their opening game of the season against Oxford, has been demoted to the under-21s and will not be considered by Thorup tonight.

Ashley Barnes remains sidelined with a calf injury, whilst Jose Cordoba is unlikely to feature as he continues to struggle with a thigh issue.

Thorup will seek to balance his squad between strength and minutes - Amankwah Forson could make his first start, having impressed during a second-half cameo in Saturday's 2-0 defeat.

Others like Brad Hills, Kellen Fisher and Gabriel Forsyth could all feature as City look to reach the second round of the competition.

Stevenage started their League One campaign with a 1-0 victory over Shrewsbury courtesy of a strike from experienced forward Elliott List. Alex Revell, who succeeded Steve Evans after his departure to Rotherham United, is expecting to make changes to his starting line-up.
