Norwich City women's left-back Alice Parker has announced her departure from the club to pursue a career in refereeing.

Parker became a stalwart of the Canaries' side after returning in 2022, playing a key role as they challenged for the fourth-tier league title last season.

She's also been part of two County Cup-winning squads, as well as scoring two goals in the women's side's return to Carrow Road in April 2023.

Speaking to official club channels, she said:  "It's been a long process, it's taken a long time to make the decision, it's been a hard one and a real emotional one as well, but hopefully it will be the right thing for myself and I am looking forward to the next steps."

Head of women's football Flo Allen added: "As a former graduate of our player pathway, Alice has played an integral role both on and off the field in the side's recent development, becoming a role model to many City fans.

"Although we are disappointed to see her depart the club, we must place on record our thanks to Alice for her commitment shown towards the club. She departs with our best wishes as she transitions from player to referee."
