The shared vision of Ben Knapper and Johannes Hoff Thorup is what sold Jose Cordoba on a move to Norwich City.
The Canaries officially confirmed the centre-back's signing this morning as the English transfer window opened, making him the first signing of Thorup's head coach tenure.
He also became the first player Knapper has signed permanently as the club's sporting director, starting his mission to create a younger, more possession-based side.
Cordoba says that vision convinced him that Carrow Road was the right place to be, with his, Thorup's and Knapper's ideas all aligned.
"We spoke about the future and their main idea of the club, and we agreed with the same points," he said. "That made me feel happy and comfortable, and it made me feel like it was something I was looking for; that it is a family club.
"I feel so happy to be here, what can I say? I feel that I am in a good way, it's a good feeling to be here. I see Norwich is like a family, and I was looking for something like that. The idea of the club and the feeling went directly to me, and I felt that I had to make this choice."
The 23-year-old has signed a four-year deal with the club for a reported £3million, and is hoping to bring his brand of progressive football to Norwich alongside his defensive attributes.
He says the English second tier is a step up, and one he's looking forward to making after impressing in Bulgaria with Levski Sofia.
"I feel like I am a bit calm on the ball, I'm this type of centre-back," he continued, speaking to official club channels. "I like more to play with the ball, to have more possession with the ball. I try to help my team-mates in every situation without the ball.
"I have been watching the top leagues, the Premier League and the Championship as well. I watch La Liga in Spain too. I've seen how hard it is, the level of competition, the ambition of every player who joins the league. I think it's a better place for me."
