Kenny McLean, Grant Hanley and Angus Gunn will be the focus of the footballing world tonight when they feature in Euro 2024's opening game.

The Norwich City trio face hosts Germany at the Allianz Arena, kick-off 8pm (BST), hoping to get their campaign off to a good start by beating the Group A favourites.

There had been doubts over Hanley's fitness going into the tournament, with the 32-year-old having only played seven games for the Canaries last season, but he started in both of the Tartan Army's warm-up games.

Head coach Steve Clark says he has a fully fit squad to choose from as a result, and that his group are raring to go.

"Everyone is fully fit, flying, desperate to be selected and ready," he said. "We prepared well, we're ready and hopefully we can show that.

"We believe we can get a result every time we go to the pitch, otherwise what's the point?

"They're a good team, I think people were trying to talk them down a little bit. I think Julian Nagelsmann found, like I did, it takes a while to find your best team.

"When the draw was made I expected it to be a tough game and nothing has changed my mind."

Although Clark wants his charges to embrace the occasion, he says it's important not to be side-tracked or allow it to become a distraction.

"It's the opening game of a four-team section, three matches, we know what we have to do to qualify and that's all we focus on," he continued.

"The enormity of the opener is a bit of a sideshow and hopefully we don't get too caught up in that.

"It's a difficult game. One of the mantras I've had is respect everyone and fear no one. We know they're a good team but hopefully we can show everyone we're a good team as well."

"Most of the players have been involved in big matches before, so I'm sure they'll handle it well."
