Danny Batth has sent Norwich City fans a goodbye message ahead of his release by the Canaries.

The centre-back's short stay at Carrow Road is set to come to an end when the club confirms its released and retained list ahead of next season, having moved to Norfolk just nine months ago on transfer deadline day.

Batth was recruited as a replacement for the outgoing Andrew Omobamidele after his late move to Nottingham Forest, signing a one-year deal after moving on a free transfer from Sunderland.

The 33-year-old made only five league starts during the 2023-24 campaign, however, and City have declined to take up the option to extend that deal by a further 12 months.

Addressing supporters via his own social media accounts, Batth said: "Thank you Norwich. It's been a privilege to play for the club and appreciate all your support this season.

"We ultimately fell short after reaching the play-offs, but it has been a new experience and I look forward to what is next."
