Norwich City will have to avoid defeat at Elland Road after drawing the home leg of their play-off semi-final with Leeds 0-0.

City had the best of the first half, spending large parts of it probing without any significant success.

Georgionio Rutter had a golden chance to open the scoring when Willy Gnonto cut back for him in the 13th minute, but his kick only hit fresh air.

The visitors had the ball in the net 17 minutes later when a stray Shane Duffy tackle broke for Junior Firpo, but an offside flag denied the Spaniard.

Gabriel Sara fluffed a half-chance to score when Dimitris Giannoulis found him on the break early in the second half, before the pattern of Leeds chance creation continued.

Neither Crysencio Summerville nor former Canary Sam Byram could make the most, however, and Norwich began to grow back into the game.

But clear openings were few and far between in a sterile second half, and both sides settled for a draw.
