Norwich City are hoping to keep the momentum gathered from Saturday's East Anglian derby victory going when they face Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough tonight. 

That 1-0 victory over Ipswich has created enthusiasm and optimism ahead of the final five matches - with David Wagner and his side desperate to avoid an 'after the Lord Mayor's show' type performance in Yorkshire.

In the last four instances of beating Ipswich in the regular league season, Norwich haven't won the following game. In 2014, a 1-0 win was followed by a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth. In 2015, a 2-0 win was followed by a 1-0 defeat to Wigan. In 2019, Norwich followed a 3-0 victory with a 3-1 defeat at Preston.

That is the target for City's squad who will be required to balance their emotions and rediscover the motivation that carried them across the line in Saturday's triumph.

Their record this season away from home when playing a few days after the weekend is poor - nine of City's 10 defeats have come in those circumstances.

City have been boosted by news that Jonathan Rowe has returned to team training as of Monday - the winger has been sidelined with a hamstring issue since a 2-2 draw against QPR in February. He is not expected to travel to Hillsborough, but may become an option for the matchday squad on Saturday.

Otherwise, Norwich have no new injury concerns to contend with from the weekend. They will be without Jacob Sorensen (hamstring), Onel Hernandez (foot) and Dimi Giannoulis (hamstring) for the foreseeable future.

Wednesday have improved since Danny Rohl succeeded Xisco Munoz in October, and they remain in the hunt for survival with five matches to play.

They recorded a 2-0 victory over struggling QPR on Saturday has handed them an opportunity to move out of the relegation zone should they record three points this evening.

Rohl has won 13 of his 33 Championship matches in charge and improved their fortunes. Wednesday have lost just one of their last six matches at home.

The Canaries have won their last two away matches against the Owls - recording victory on just one of their last 14 clashes at Hillsborough prior.
