Kenny McLean hopes to reward Norwich City supporters by making Saturday's derby clash against Ipswich Town one to remember. 

The Canaries welcome automatic promotion chasing Town to Carrow Road hoping to preserve their near 15-year derby day dominance over their Suffolk rivals whilst aiding their bid for the Championship play-offs. 

A 3-1 defeat to Leicester on Easter Monday hasn't provided the ideal preparation to bounce into the East Anglian derby - but captain McLean has vowed that City's dressing room is relishing the occasion. 

"We know how big Saturday is for everybody connected with the club, and we are going to give everything," McLean said after Monday's defeat to Leicester. 

"I'd be lying if I said you weren't looking forward to it more than normal. Everyone will be raring to go, training will be raised a bit in the next couple of days. We just need to recover and get ourselves right with everyone staying fit and healthy.

"It's one of the games you look forward to. We've got a derby at home, let's see how it goes but we're right up for it."

Ipswich arrive at Carrow Road as league leaders in the Championship after taking maximum points over the Easter weekend and will be hoping to record their first victory in Norfolk since February 2006 and against City since April 2009. 

Despite their impressive campaign, McLean insists City will not be daunted by the task and reiterated the determination of the squad to complete the task and finish inside the top six. 

"Of course it is (a tough game). Take nothing away from them—they're a good side. But we're more than capable of winning that game," McLean said.

"We'll be doing everything for this football club to take three points. It's the one that everyone looks forward to, so let's make it special.

"Everyone in there wants the same goal (finishing in the top six). That is what has made us successful up to this point because everyone is pulling in one direction, doing the right things and preparing perfectly.

"We are doing all we can. There's still a lot to play for, and we're up for the fight, for sure."
