The EFL has confirmed the schedule for the Championship play-offs, and Norwich City hope to be among the teams involved.

Ahead of the final eight games of the season, the league have officially confirmed the dates and times of the semi-finals and final at Wembley Stadium.

The regular Championship season takes place on Saturday, May 4, with Norwich travelling to struggling Birmingham. That entire round of fixtures will now kick-off at the earlier time of 12.30pm, with selections for broadcast by Sky Sports to be announced in due course.

In terms of the play-offs, sixth versus third will take place at 12:30pm on Sunday, May 12, with the return leg taking place at 8pm on Thursday, May 16.

Fifth versus fourth will take place at 8pm on Monday, May 13, with the return fixture taking place at 8pm on Friday, May 17.

The play-off final at Wembley Stadium will take place on Sunday, May 26, with a kick-off time to be confirmed.

Norwich currently sit in sixth place in the Championship and enjoy a three point cushion over nearest competitors Hull, but Liam Rosenior's side do have a game in hand against top six chasing Coventry.

David Wagner's side are hoping to cement their place inside the Championship's top six in the remaining matches after the international break, starting with Plymouth Argyle, who arrive at Carrow Road hoping to halt their six-game winning run at home.

Norwich previously enjoyed play-off success by beating Middlesbrough 2-0 at Wembley Stadium in 2015 to win promotion to the Premier League under Alex Neil.

They beat Ipswich Town over two legs in the semis - and current standings would see them pitted against their East Anglian rivals in the play-offs, although there are plenty of twists and turns to come.

Luton Town were the victors of last season's play-offs - beating Coventry on penalties to earn promotion to the top flight.
