Ben Knapper believes Norwich City are a Premier League-ready club as they close in on their play-off target.

The Canaries are now just one point away from the Championship top six with 16 games left this season, and head coach David Wagner has been open about their ultimate aim for the campaign.

He's been joined by executive director Zoe Webber, who has often targeted the play-offs in her weekly matchday programme.

Sporting director Knapper reiterated that goal when he spoke to external media for the first time on Wednesday, and feels that the club are in a good position if they're promoted to English football's top table.

"One of the big advantages of this club is that in so many respects it is Premier League-ready," he said. "You look at the infrastructure, you look at the way that we work, you look at the staff base, you look at the expertise that we have here and the processes.

"The way the club is working, it's Premier League-ready in so many respects. We've got great quality in the group as well, I think that's undeniable.

"So yeah, of course, I think that's something that we're trying it hardest to be in, that position. We want to be in that position and test ourselves, and we're going to push ourselves every day between now and the end of the season to hopefully have that challenge."

Knapper called on City supporters to play their part in the charge for promotion, thanking them for their loyalty so far and urging them to stick together as the campaign enters crunch time.

"I know that there have been really challenging moments, frustrating moments," he continued, when asked for a message to those fans. "Rest assured, nobody's felt those more than us internally.

"Thank you to the fans for sticking with us. Come on, let's really stick together now and get behind everything. The window closing helps to really streamline everyone's attention.

"We're crystal clear on what we're trying to achieve, we're in touching distance and there's a real optimism. Let's stick together and enjoy the ride.

"There are 16 games left, that's more than a third of the Championship season. Let's go full throttle and see what we can do."
