Norwich City kickstart a crucial week for their Championship season with a tricky Carrow Road encounter against West Brom this afternoon. 

The Canaries are hoping to cap off a fine week of victories over Hull and Bristol Rovers with a statement win over the high-flying Baggies to keep themselves within touching distance of the Championship play-off places.

City were beaten by West Brom just a matter of weeks ago on Boxing Day with Borja Sainz's dismissal seeing them reduced to ten men for more than an hour of the encounter. Brandon Thomas-Asante's goal proved the difference with Norwich falling to a 1-0 defeat.

David Wagner has some fresh injury concerns for this encounter. Grant Hanley remains sidelined through a back strain but is expected to return to team training next week - he could be an option for next Sunday's FA Cup trip to Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Danny Batth is set for a scan on a hamstring injury he suffered in Wednesday's victory, with Dimi Giannoulis a doubt with a knock that ruled him out in midweek.

Unlike Norwich, West Brom have had a full week to prepare for this fixture after beating out-of-form Blackburn 4-1 at the Hawthorns last weekend. Carlos Corberan's men can move ten points clear of City should they record a victory in Norfolk today.

Norwich are hoping to extend their unbeaten home form to seven matches - whilst West Brom have lost and failed to score in their last two games on the road.
