Ken Aboh netted an impressive double for Norwich City's U21s as they mounted an impressive second-half comeback to beat Charlton 4-2 in the Premier League Cup.

The striker scored twice in eight minutes to grab his 12th and 13th goals of the campaign, as well as helping Alan Neilson's group advance to the knockout stages of the competition.

Aboh is the under-21s top scorer this term and has entered the final six months of his contract. Norwich are believed to be keen to extend his stay at Carrow Road, but there are reservations about his pathway at the club.

Errol Mundle-Smith opened his under-21 account on his debut for the side after impressing in the under-18s, with highly-rated Welsh youth international Elliot Myles completing the comeback late on.

Charlton raced into a 2-0 lead at Colney inside the opening 30 minutes, with Tolu Ladapo giving them a lead against the run of play.

Aboh then saw his penalty saved minutes later after Adian Manning was brought down inside the box. Charlton keeper Prince Adegoke was equal to the effort to deny Norwich an equaliser in the 26th minute.

Charlton doubled their advantage minutes later through Toby Blower, who found the net from the edge of the area to send Norwich into the break two goals behind for the third time in their last five home matches.

City started the second half brightly, with Adegoke making a smart stop to deny Manning with Palmeiras loanee Pedro Lima seeing an effort rebound off the woodwork.

Aboh's opening goal offered City a route back into the contest with the striker nodding home from Guilherme Montoia's cross. The ex-Benfica defender has now recorded five assists this campaign.

There was an element of fortune about the equaliser, with Lima's shot from distance striking the bar, hitting Adegoke on the back with Aboh reacting quickest to prod the ball into the net to restore parity.

Norwich's third goal came via a set piece, with Gabriel Forsyth's fierce free kick being headed into the net by substitute Mundle-Smith in the 82nd minute.

Myles, who turns 17 on Saturday, finished the contest with an emphatic finish into the top right corner of the net.

The win has secured Norwich's qualification from Group C into the knockout stages, with the final game of the group stages to take place next month away to Bournemouth.
