Jacob Sorensen is ready to fight for his Norwich City future in the coming months as he enters the final six months of his contract.
The Danish midfielder is one of nine City first-teamers out of contract this summer, although the club do hold a year's option to extend his stay.
Sorensen has been sidelined since pre-season with a pelvic-related injury and completed his first 90 minutes during Norwich's 3-1 FA Cup replay victory over Bristol Rovers on Wednesday evening.
He is now targeting a consistent run of games and a clean bill of health to ensure he is in a position to extend his Carrow Road stay, having signed for the club in 2020 from home town Esbjerg.
It will ultimately be a decision for new sporting director Ben Knapper, and Sorensen has made little secret of his desire to remain in Norfolk.
"I would be lying if I said it's not in my head with the contract. It's up in the summer, and you're running out of time.
"Hopefully, I can stay fit now for the next half a year, and I can see where things go from there," Sorensen said.
"I've had a great time at Norwich. It's been three and a half years now with ups and downs for me personally with the injuries and stuff. I haven't spoken to the club yet.
"My main aim was to get back fully fit, now I've played 90 minutes and now I hope I can continue to stay fit. I will probably speak with the club in a few months and we will see where we are."
Norwich had to emerge through adversity to progress into the second round, coming from behind to complete a second half comeback over Bristol Rovers.
It means they have set up a fourth-round tie against Premier League leaders Liverpool a week on Sunday - a game with special significance for the Dane.
"It's vital to keep your head. We spoke about a few things at half-time and corrected them in the second half. Then, it was a matter of how many goals we wanted to score.
"I think we could have been more direct at times. It's a really good performance," City's midfielder said on their third round replay win.
"We're excited - Anfield is a beautiful place. We've been there a few times, but I didn't play. I have always had a soft spot for Liverpool growing up in Denmark so I am looking forward to it."
