Norwich City somehow scraped a 2-1 victory against play-off chasing Hull City at the MKM Stadium, relieving some pressure on head coach David Wagner but thanks significantly to luck.

Rowe opened the scoring with the first half's only real moment of quality, finishing smartly past Ryan Allsop after skipping past three Tigers challenges to the delight of 1,300 travelling fans.

The hosts produced an onslaught in the second half and somehow couldn't level despite clear chances for new signings Fabio Carvalho and Billy Sharp. Norwich stopper Angus Gunn was required to deny the former, pulling off a save equal in quality to that stunning Rowe opener.

Christian Fassnacht tapped in late on for what should have made things comfortable, but Tyler Morton's late strike ensured a nervy final three minutes for Canaries supporters.

The win takes the Norfolk side to eighth in the Championship, just two points away from the play-off places.
