Norwich City pause their Championship campaign to host some FA Cup third round action by welcoming League One side Bristol Rovers to Carrow Road.

The Canaries are hoping to advance to round four of the competition for the third time in four years, failing to beat Blackburn in David Wagner's first game in charge last season.

The City boss is celebrating his first anniversary in post and will be looking to mark the occasion by securing their place in the next round.

Norwich are expected to shuffle their pack with fit-again duo Dimi Giannoulis and Jacob Sorensen likely to get minutes this afternoon. Josh Sargent is also poised for his first start since returning from an ankle injury.

Wagner has a fully fit squad to select from and is likely to offer minutes to some who have occupied the fringes of the squad in recent weeks.

Nearly 18,000 tickets have been sold with City supporters hoping to see a more expansive style than was on display during their 1-1 draw with Southampton on New Year's Day.

Bristol Rovers currently reside in 10th in League One - nine points off the top six and enter this game having won three of their last five matches under new boss Matt Taylor.

Taylor has already recorded a victory over Norwich so far this season during his stint as Rotherham United boss. The Millers beat City 2-1 back in September - a result that kickstarted an autumn of decline for the Canaries.

Ex-City striker Chris Martin is set for a Carrow Road return with the third division side and will be hoping to mark it with a goal or cup progress. The Gasheads beat Whitby Town and Crewe Alexandra to tee up this afternoon's tie with Norwich.

The sides haven't met since the 2009/10 campaign in League One, with Norwich achieving the double over Rovers in that campaign courtesy of 3-0 and 5-1 victories.

Rovers had enjoyed the better end of results between the teams in two FA Cup meetings - recording wins over Norwich in 1912-13 and 1963-64. They are looking to progress beyond the third round for the first time since 2008.
