Norwich City are one of a clutch of Championship teams supposedly keen on taking Wolves defender Dexter Lembikisa on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

Lembikisa, 20, has spent the first portion of the season on loan at struggling Rotherham but has featured heavily since joining the Millers.

TeamTalk are reporting that Norwich are among the teams hoping to hijack his loan at the New York Stadium, with Wolves happy to let him play higher up the Championship.

Norwich, West Brom, Ipswich, Middlesborough and Blackburn are also mentioned in the report as having 'held talks' for the Jamaican international full-back.

Lembikisa, who scored a howitzer against Norwich in Rotherham's 2-1 win earlier in the season, has made 25 appearances for Leam Richardson's men this term.

He has made his senior debut for Wolves and is seemingly highly-rated at Molineux, kicking on with Rotherham after two positive campaigns in their under-21 set-up. Despite his game time at the New York Stadium, there have been concerns over his defensive work.

Rotherham have just recalled right-back Peter Kioso from League One high-flyers Peterborough after Lee Peltier's injury. He is expected to start ahead of Lembikisa in the Championship from here.

Elsewhere, the Daily Record are reporting that Norwich are monitoring Dundee United teenager Lewis O’Donnell.

The midfielder has impressed whilst on loan at Scottish League One side Kelty Hearts and is expected to earn a move to England in this window. O'Connell is out of contract in the summer and could be an affordable rising talent.

VERDICT: When Norwich are listed among a host of clubs supposedly chasing one player, that is always a bit of a red flag and can sometimes point to an agent-led story.

Norwich currently have Jack Stacey and young Kellen Fisher as their first-team options at right-back, and both have been consistently involved in David Wagner's plans.

Stacey has been the City boss' first choice with Fisher, who joined from Bromley in the summer, serving as his deputy. The young defender has made a positive impression since arriving at Carrow Road.

Unless City are lining up a loan move to aid Fisher's development, it feels unlikely that they would be looking for reinforcements on the right side of defence and wouldn't be able to guarantee the level of game time that Lembikisa is currently getting at Rotherham.

Adding Lembikisa would only block Fisher's pathway, even if it provided a level of competition for Stacey, who has struggled for consistency in recent weeks.

With all of that in mind, this feels like an unlikely move at this stage of the window.
