Jon Rowe knew he could back up his pre-derby talk after netting a brace to ensure Norwich City maintained their 14-year unbeaten run over Ipswich Town.
City's winger posted a message on social media earlier in the week ahead of their trip to Portman Road, but was able to walk the walk when it mattered most.
The youngster was at the double to ensure the Canaries left Portman Road with a hard-fought point, becoming just the second side to leave Suffolk with points this season after Daniel Farke's Leeds.
Rowe has graduated through the ranks at Carrow Road and experienced a few derby encounters in the youth set-up but relished the pressure brought by the senior occasion. He stole the headlines by producing two strikes.
"I agitated a few Ipswich fans on social media a few days ago, but that is all a part of it. I didn't feel that I went over the top," he said. "I felt it was a good way to set the tone ahead of the game and get everyone pumped up.
"We came away with something and I couldn't ask for more really. Obviously, there is pressure to keep the run going - but as footballers, you have to thrive off that pressure, and I am a player who wants to thrive off the pressurised moments.
"In the academy, when we had derbies, they were very scrappy; now, it's the big stage where it means a lot more to the fans. I realise the importance of that and tried to produce what I managed to produce today."
Norwich will be hoping that the result against Ipswich, coupled with a renewed run of Championship form, can provide the Canaries with a much-needed boost over a busy festive period.
"Credit to Ipswich - they have shocked everyone. They are doing well and playing well. I respect good football. We have to focus on what we're doing and our situation," he said.
"Credit to the boys; we have the right mentality to bring ourselves up the table and please the fans. It's a big boost for us and we need to take it into the next game."
