Adam Idah saved Norwich City - and perhaps David Wagner - as the Canaries completed a late turnaround to beat Cardiff City 3-2 in South Wales.
The win slightly relieves pressure on head coach Wagner after a run of one win in 10 Championship games, securing City's first away victory in more than two months.
The visitors started the better of the sides, and found the goal they deserved in the 22nd minute. Marcelino Nunez' corner was flicked on by Kenny McLean at the near post, and Fassnacht tapped in for a goal on his 30th birthday.
Norwich were fortunate to escape a penalty when Przemyslaw Placheta tangled legs with Josh Bowler, but they ran out of luck in the 39th minute. Bowler was at the centre of things again, slamming into an empty net after Callum Robinson flashed the ball across the box.
Provider then turned scorer just four minutes later, Robinson converting a Jamilu Collins centre to complete the turnaround.
Wagner attempted to turn the tide with two half-time substitutions, but Jonathan Rowe's saved one-on-one was as close as the Norfolk side came to levelling the game until the 82nd minute.
The mood at the Cardiff City Stadium changed entirely in the space of two minutes thereafter, however, first a Ryan Wintle own goal restoring parity before substitute Idah tapped beyond Jak Alnwick to send the away end into raptures.
