David Wagner had his say on his future after Norwich City's 3-1 Championship home defeat to Blackburn Rovers.

City slipped to an eighth league defeat in 11 to remain 17th on a day when there were sporadic calls for Wagner, the board and outgoing sporting director Stuart Webber to leave.

Gabby Sara slotted in stoppage time against 10-man Rovers, who cruised to the victory to pile the pressure on Wagner.

The German head coach spoke to reporters at Carrow Road on Sunday afternoon.

"(Do you want the chance to turn this around?) Of course, if I get the chance, I will do what I've done in the past and work tirelessly to try to turn it," he said. "But I am not the right person to ask this question. to be fair. (Will you get the chance to be in charge for Cardiff?)  I don't know. I'm not the person who can answer this question.

"(Were there any discussions on your future with Stuart or Neil Adams prior to this game?) No. We have discussed scenarios beforehand and obviously we've discussed that our recent form is not good enough. And that we have to try to turn it as quick as possible, and that we all together would like to be brave and change it, and obviously we have not done it today.

"(Who is to blame? You or the players?) I would never place blame on my players. So if you ask me the question like this, then it's me. I take responsibility for it, for sure.

"(Have you considered resigning?) No, this is not my character. As long as I get the chance I try everything to turn it, but obviously we all together witnessed what happens in the past. The results and the performances were not on the level which we expect from ourselves.

"(Have the fans made up their mind on you?) Listen, if the fans have made up their mind it's up to them, and fully understandable."
