Norwich City return to action hoping to put Saturday's horrorshow at Plymouth behind them as they travel to Premier League side Fulham in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

David Wagner is expected to make wholesale changes and utilise all of his squad for tonight's trip to the capital, with Norwich attempting to record their first victory at Craven Cottage since March 1986 when Kevin Drinkell's goal separated the sides.

City are hoping to display a response to Saturday's humiliation at Home Park, but are putting their focus into Saturday's Carrow Road clash against Birmingham.

Wagner will therefore make changes and has been open about that fact - with senior debuts set to be awarded and a first City outing for Borja Sainz on the cards after two under-21 matches against Wolves and Everton last week.

Striking a balance between rotation and retaining a competitive edge will be crucial for the City boss tonight as Norwich attempt to showcase a better version of themselves than was present in Devon last weekend.

Norwich have striking duo Josh Sargent and Ashley Barnes sidelined. Marcelino Nunez and Jacob Sorensen are still on the injury trail whilst Grant Hanley remains a long-term absentee. Defender Danny Batth is cup tied having featured for Sunderland in round one against Crewe.

The Canaries have overcome QPR and Bristol City in the opening rounds of the competition - winning both matches 1-0.

Fulham beat Tottenham Hotspur on penalties in round two having drawn 1-1 on the night. A perfect return of spot kicks saw them beat Ange Postecoglou's side 5-4 in the shootout.

Marco Silva is expected to shuffle his pack with a West London derby against Chelsea on the horizon on Monday.

The draw for the next round of the competition will be made later this evening.
