Actonians 1 Norwich City Women 5
Norwich City made it four away wins from four with a convincing victory at a windy Rectory Park.
The game started in frantic fashion, with two goals scored within the first five minutes. Megan Todd pounced inside the Actonians box to turn home Rachel Lawrence’s cross, before the hosts quickly levelled things at the other end through Jasmin Williamson.
Actonians pressed City well in the early stages, but once the visitors found some composure in possession, their quality shone through. In the 40th minute, full-back Lauren Tomlinson restored City’s advantage, curling into the net impressively from the edge of the box.
Martin Herdman’s side smelt blood at the end of the first period and extended their lead, with Todd earning a penalty before stepping up to net her second goal of the afternoon, and fifth of the season.
After the break, City made the most of some rash decision-making by the hosts to add a fourth, as midfielder Katie Knights latched onto a smart Natasha Snelling pass before rolling home. Substitute Olivia Cook then wrapped the win up deep into second-half stoppage time, capping off City’s most composed display of the season.
