Norwich City are not interested in Coventry City's Championship attacker Kasey Palmer.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano tweeted on Monday lunchtime Palmer, who was a key figure under David Wagner in Huddersfield's promotion from the Championship in 2017 - was a player of interest.
City have no intention of bidding for the 26-year-old ahead of Friday's 11pm deadline.
That link surfaced after US international Josh Sargent suffered suspected ankle ligament damage in opening the scoring on Saturday in a 4-0 Championship win at Huddersfield.
Canaries' head coach Wagner indicated immediately after the game he had forward options within his squad, while they assess the full extent of Sargent's lay-off.

Romano suggested the Canaries may look to test the Sky Blues' resolve ahead of Friday's transfer finale.
Palmer has started three of Coventry's opening four league games and is under contract until 2025.
The former Chelsea trainee scored against the Canaries in a 4-2 home defeat at the CBS Arena early in Wagner's tenure in January.
Sky Blues' boss Mark Robins hinted after his side's weekend goalless league draw against Sunderland there was unlikely to be any exits, beyond reportedly a loan move for young defender Ryan Howley.
“At the moment we have had Jack Burroughs go out on loan to Lincoln and we are looking at potentially one other going out because they need to play," he said, quoted by CoventryLive. "But at the moment we need to wait and assess the numbers because if we let one out now and then pick up a couple of injuries then it causes a major headache, so I want to try to hold onto them for the moment."
Wagner is expected to provide a fitness update on Sargent after the Canaries' League Cup trip to Bristol City on Tuesday.
The German initially labelled it a 'serious' injury, with Sargent leaving Huddersfield with his swollen right ankle in a protective boot ahead of further scans.
Ashley Barnes and Adam Idah both notched in the Terriers' rout, which prompted Wagner to insist he had goalscoring options in his group rather than look to bring in an addition in the closing week of the window.
“I don't think so. I think we are covered in this area quite well,” he said. “You’ve seen Adam in this game. He has done fantastic. Ashley is in top form. Liam (Gibbs) can play in that area of the pitch, like Nacho (Marcelino Nunez) and (Przemyslaw) Placheta. We are quite well covered. Obviously. Josh is a top, top player for us.
"He is in top form as well and this hurts if we will miss him for a longer period. But this happens to every team. Now we have to look, assess him, and hopefully it isn't super serious, or not as serious as it looks like.
"But I don't think that we have to be busy in this transfer window because of this injury.
“It's quite swollen. It looks like a serious ankle injury. We have to assess it further. We need a follow up scan, for sure, and then we know more in the next upcoming days how serious it is."
