Norwich City Women 1 Leafield 0
A first-half penalty from Hope Strauss saw Norwich City Women advance to the FA Cup third round.
Shannon Shaw had already rattled the crossbar before City went ahead, Eloise Morran’s effort hitting the post and Millie Daviss bundled over in her attempts to reach the follow-up shot.
Strauss stepped up to give City the advantage, with just 14 minutes on the clock.
Natasha Snelling headed wide, Daviss saw a shot from distance tipped on to the crossbar and Megan Todd was denied by the visiting keeper as City looked for a second.
But despite their efforts, the hosts were unable to add to their tally. Snelling was denied by some good defending and keeper Sarah Quantrill was forced into a good late save to deny the visitors, but the Canaries held on.
Norwich City: Quantrill, Flye, Morran, Todd, Daviss, Snelling, Moore, Tomlinson, Shaw, Strauss, Kennard. Subs: Bishop, Medd-Gill, Densley, Symonds, Cook, Booty.
