London Bees 3 Norwich City Women 3
Norwich City’s winless run in the Women’s National League Division One South East extended to four matches after they could only draw with London Bees at The Hive.
The Canaries opened the scoring in the early stages of the game when Lauren Tomlinson’s deep cross from the left flank was headed home by in-form striker Shannon Shaw.
However, City were not in front for long, with Bees forward Samantha Lanza netting a header of her own in the 17th minute.
Bees were comfortably the better side in the first half, forcing Sarah Quantrill into a number of good saves, before Lanza found a way past the City goalkeeper to score her second goal on the stroke of the interval.
The high energy levels City began the second period with emphasised their desire to turn the contest around, with Shaw netting her second header - again assisted by Tomlinson - only three minutes after the restart.
Not long after the hour mark, Shaw secured her hat-trick by stabbing home from close range after substitute Holly Kennard’s shot was fumbled by home goalkeeper Tia Ginn.
It looked like City were going to be returning to Norfolk with an impressive comeback victory, only for Bees forward Hayley Hoare to fire in a dramatic equaliser in stoppage time.
Norwich City: Quantrill (c), Flye, Medd-Gill, Strauss, Daviss, Booty, Moore, Tomlinson, Shaw, Snelling, Densley. Subs: Bishop, Todd, Knights, Cook, Kennard.
