Norwich City's under-21s came back down to earth with a bump as they were beaten 3-0 by Nottingham Forest at the Avant Training Centre.

The young Canaries comfortably swept West Brom aside last week despite going down to 10 men, but were soundly defeated by the Reds to make it a mixed start to their Premier League 2 campaign.

Among the Norwich starters were Ken Aboh, who's expected to complete an EFL loan this month and was the star of that Baggies rout, and former first-teamer Jonathan Tomkinson.

They couldn't stop the visitors opening the scoring inside the opening minute, however, Jimmy Sinclair claiming his first of the game in rapid fashion.

Zach Abbott then doubled the lead just two minutes later in a quickfire double for Warren Joyce's side, before Sinclair capitalised on a defensive error to take the result beyond doubt midway through the first half.

Alan Neilson brought both Alex Roberts and Harmony Okwumo on at half time in an attempt to turn the tide, and there were chances for Roberts and Aboh in a more sterile second period.

But ultimately Forest held onto the handsome score line, claiming a straightforward three points and leaving a dent in City's confidence going into next week's trip to West Ham United.
