Norwich City are searching for an immediate response to their midweek defeat to Middlesbrough as they welcome basement boys Rotherham United to Carrow Road. 

The Canaries are hoping for a sixth successive home victory when the Millers come to Norfolk vying to end a run of eight successive Championship defeats.

Norwich will be hoping for three points to make amends for Wednesday night's loss in a game that flipped after Borja Sainz's dismissal after half an hour. 

City elected to appeal the red card awarded by Bobby Madley, who felt Sainz had committed an act of violent conduct against Jonny Howson, and the FA decided to overturn the sending-off and write off the four-game suspension, meaning the Spanish winger is fit to play this afternoon. 

Grant Hanley limped out of the clash at the Riverside Stadium in the second half but has responded well to treatment and could also be in line to feature, even if David Wagner is left with a late decision to make on the City captain. 

Norwich remain without defender Shane Duffy (calf), winger Jon Rowe (hamstring) and Onel Hernandez (foot) through injury. Marcelino Nunez returned to full fitness in their midweek defeat to Middlesbrough. 

Depleted Rotherham are hoping experienced defender Sean Morrison will be able to put himself through the pain barrier to feature at Carrow Road, with Cameron Humphreys the only recognised fit central defender for the Millers. 

Andre Green, Tyler Blackett, Grant Hall and Cohen Bramall are all sidelined for Leam Richardson, who succeeded Matt Taylor in December and has picked up just six points from a possible 51. 

Rotherham are hoping to record their first victory on their travels in the Championship in 16 months since a 1-0 victory over Sheffield United in November 2022. Richardson's side have picked up just four points on the road this season and have conceded 11 in their last three games. 

Norwich is hoping to get revenge for their 2-1 defeat to Rotherham earlier in the campaign - a win could take them into the top six if Hull get beaten by table-toppers Leicester.
