Carlos Corberan insisted West Brom had to respect Norwich City’s attacking power in a 2-2 Championship stalemate.

The Canaries might be without missing striker Josh Sargent through injury, but Corberan felt his side were cut open too often at the Hawthorns.

Emi Marcondes and Torbjorn Heggem’s own goal, under pressure from Borja Sainz, cancelled out home strikes from Mason Holgate and Josh Maja.

West Brom had only scored twice all season in the league in front of their own fans, but matched that tally inside the opening 43 minutes of a see-saw contest.

“I think we made so many improvements in attack, especially during the first 75 minutes,” said Corberan. “There was less solidity in defence because at the same time as we were creating chances, we were conceding them too.

“We knew we were playing against a good team in attack and it’s true they have challenged our defensive level and we have conceded more chances than we usually would concede.

“It’s true that in the last minutes, we probably couldn’t keep the tempo or stem the momentum that we were creating in the first part of the second half.

“In football it is difficult to say what is fair, and what is not fair because at the end football is a case of accuracy.

“I would say it was fair to go to half-time at 2-2. For me, in the second half we had more opportunities than them but in the end, we didn’t have the accuracy to score one more goal.

"I am very pleased to give goals to the fans but I was not too worried because I know you can have these periods. Always it is nice to see goals but for me, it isn't nice to see us concede a lot of chances.”

Baggies' goalscorer Holgate insisted it was a better point for Johannes Hoff Thorup’s side.

“It was a disappointing result but I think that shows how good we are as a squad that, Norwich are a very good team, and we’re disappointed with drawing against them,” he said, speaking to Albion’s official site. “It’s something we’re not feeling as positive about.

“Ultimately, we had control of the game for a longer period of time than them and I think the result’s better for them than it is for us - which shows what direction we want to go in.

“We’re just missing a piece, or pieces, for us to turn these draws into wins and when they do turn, you’ll see the best of us because it’s going to come at some point.

“It just hasn’t clicked yet and that just shows what kind of quality is in there and when it does click, because the Championship is so tight and if you win three in-a-row, the table can and will look completely different.”
