Borja Sainz dreams of playing Premier League football but is still searching for improvement at Norwich City.

The Spanish winger has made a blistering start to the Championship campaign, netting 11 goals, becoming the third player to record successive Player of the Month awards, and playing a key role in City's new-look side under Johannes Hoff Thorup.

That has led to inevitable speculation over his future, and Galatasaray, Atletico Madrid, Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao have all been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old City star.

Canaries' owner Mark Attanasio revealed at last week's AGM that no offers for the Spanish flyer would be entertained in January, whilst sporting director Ben Knapper revealed conversations over a Carrow Road contract extension had begun with his representatives.

Sainz dreams of playing at a higher level than the Championship, but is willing to take his time in pursuit of more progress for City.

"I like to stay in the moment, and just do what I can right now to help the team with more goals or more assists," he told Sky Sports

"The Premier League is my dream, but as I said, I just think in the moment and enjoy where I am. The Championship is a great league to play in.

"This year I was able to prepare in the summer to stay strong in the league, and I think the confidence I have is the most important thing for me. The work I put in last year, I think can be seen this year."

Sainz has already eclipsed his goal and assist tally from his first season in England and is looking increasingly comfortable and confident in Thorup's system.

His growing affinity with the city and Canaries' supporters are helping him to find top gear in his performances.

"When my family and friends come, they say the people are very nice. It's a great city, and I have a real connection with the people.

"The football here is different. You can see how much people love it when you go to the stadiums you can see that in the atmosphere. The fans support when you're at home, but also when you go away. It is so helpful to the team."
