Johannes Hoff Thorup had his say on the key issues around Norwich City's 1-1 Championship draw at Stoke City.

Ante Crnac's opening goal for the Canaries, following his summer move from Poland, was cancelled out by Million Manhoef's curling equaliser in the 51st minute of the opening period.

Thorup cut an animated figure as he headed for the tunnel at the half-time whistle, appearing to gesture towards the officials, after the fourth official had signalled a minimum of five additional minutes.

But the Dane played a straight bat when pressed for his response to that incident following the game against former Norwich first team coach Narcis Pelach's Stoke.

"If it is about that we could sit here every Saturday and talk about that. That is not for me," he said. "I also told the players, no comments on that incident from us, because that is not for us. We are a team where that is part of the game.

"There will be games when we have to be even better in our performances, because we will not be completely satisfied with their performance. That was the case today."

Thorup felt Norwich failed to maintain their first half control after the interval.

"A bit of frustration and talking to the players also afterwards there was more in it for us based on that first half," he said. "Really, really good from our side. We could expect more from a game like this.

"The second half, too open. We had to defend too many corners, too many situations around our box. But based on that first half, it was really, really solid and we could have expected more.

"I am pleased with that reaction from the players because that is how I want us to behave after a game. Second half, it got a little bit too wild. They played with more vertically and more passes in behind in the second half and even more runners in behind.

"I am not satisfied with us giving away so many corners and situations in and around our box, because at the end of the day that is then a 50:50 situation.

"If you are not fully prepared so many things can happen. So that is not a game picture we like. We got the control we needed by the end with some changes from the bench but we were not close enough."

Marcelino Nunez's first half departure, with the hamstring issue that blighted his international break and forced him to pull out of Chile's squad, already makes the key midfielder a huge doubt for the midweek trip to Preston.

"Unfortunately it is the same leg he injured against Hull," confirmed Thorup. "He felt some pain in his hamstring. The same as against Hull, and the reason he didn't go away with Chile. It will take 12 to 24 hours to get some pictures to give us a better idea. We have to scan him and see how severe it is. We hope for the best but I think at this stage it would be a bit too optimistic to think he could be available for Tuesday (at Preston)."

Thorup spoke exclusively to the Pinkun on Saturday afternoon at the bet365.
