Amankwah Forson has hailed the guiding influence of Johannes Hoff Thorup and admits he already feels at home with Norwich City.

The Ghanaian midfielder arrived on the eve of the Championship season in an initial £4m transfer deal from RB Salzburg.

The 21-year-old suffered a dislocated shoulder in the League Cup at Crystal Palace in only his fifth game, and has had to bide his time from the bench in recent weeks as he adapts to the Dane’s demands.

“The coach has been fantastic,” he said. “He's taken his time to integrate me into the system smoothly, explaining what he expects from me and guiding me through training. I'm really loving the atmosphere here, and praying l give my best to the club.

“Coming to Norwich City was an easy decision. The club's tradition and legacy excited me. I settled in immediately, because everyone around the club was willing to help. The head coach and my team mates have been incredibly supportive, and I feel at home at Carrow Road.”

Forson made his full international debut for Ghana earlier this year, and featured in the Champions League during his time at Salzburg.

But the midfielder, speaking to SportsBoom, was unfazed by swapping the Austrian top flight for the Championship, and believes he can get to the Premier League in green and yellow.

Forson is convinced City can mix it with the other clubs striving to be involved in the promotion race.

“My personal goal aligns with the club's to secure Premier League football,” he said. "Just a few matches into the season, we're confident in achieving this target.

"The coach has set the target, and as a player, I must give my all. We have an amazing history, and every player dreams of preserving it. I'll take it one game at a time, ensuring I give my best performance.

“The Championship's competitiveness and unpredictability drew me in. It's a new challenge, and the physicality is intense. The electric atmosphere is amazing. I didn't hesitate to join Norwich City. We're dedicated to staying fit and delivering our best for the fans. The joy is to see them happy after every match.”
