Johannes Hoff Thorup has paid homage to the Carrow Road crowd for their positive and patient response to Norwich City's new era.
The Dane was given his first taste of a packed stadium during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Blackburn Rovers and, despite adversities and conceding a late equaliser, saw his team applauded off the pitch at full time.
Given the fractious nature of the relationship between head coaches, team and crowd in recent seasons, it shows a willingness to buy into the ideas that Thorup is seeking to implement during his tenure.
Thorup singled out the City faithful for praise post-match, thanking them for sticking with the team despite not everything going their way.
"I think the stadium is fantastic. And I think just the support we got at half-time, even though you know the feelings, the emotions, could have been different, but they were supporting the guys.
"I liked the support they gave to Gabe [Forsyth] when he was coming off the pitch, even though at that point in the game, we were still behind," Thorup said.
"That's exactly what we need and how we want the fans to be, because they can really push, they can really support us in games. Everyone could feel that after the first goal we scored, that there was a team and crowd working together. That's what it's all about.
"It's so easy to let your emotions dominate after you watch your side concede a goal towards the end of the game, but it takes class to acknowledge a team like they did it today, so I appreciate it. We should be proud of having a fan base like that."
Thorup's goal is to oversee improvement throughout this season as City continue to transition to a new style of play and approach under the ex-Nordsjaellend chief.
"It's been an okay week for us, because it's been two games where we have shown both to ourselves, but of course, also to the to the fans, that we are improving," he said.
"We are developing and hopefully going to be even better. If we fast forward to October, we are hopefully even better than today. That's the plan, and I hope that we show today that it's also realistic for us to expect that definitely a good approach, first 15/20, minutes of first half, strong second half.
"I think that was the attitude and the mindset and the approach from the team that we can expect."
