Johannes Hoff Thorup had his say on the key issues around Norwich City's 2-2 Championship draw against Blackburn Rovers.

The Canaries were pegged back by Yuki Ohashi's 87th minute diving header after Josh Sargent and Borja Sainz had cancelled out Ryan Hedges' first half opener.

The City boss gave his reaction after his competitive Carrow Road Championship home bow when he spoke to the media at Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon.

"Disappointed with the result," he said. "I think second half was very, very good. I think we did exactly what we wanted to do. We kept them under pressure, and we made it a game where it was more or less towards one goal.

"I'm not satisfied with the middle block in the first half, I think we got too passive and we invited them to do too many passes, and they could slow the tempo down, which is not ideal for us.

"So some bits in the game where I'm not satisfied, but, overall, I think the performance was okay, and I think we could have got the three points.

"(What about the defending for Blackburn's equaliser?) It starts actually with a situation where we intercept the ball and we are running forward but we give it away too easily, and then we have to defend again, instead of a situation where we could have been creating a chance, or we can at least just control the game in their half.

"That is an important lesson to learn in a game like this, because it should not end in a situation where we have to defend instead.

"You know when you are in front and the other team need to get back into the game near the end they can put in a lot of crosses to make some situations in and around the box. And we should be better in avoiding these situations."
