Adam Idah is part of Johannes Hoff Thorup’s plans for Norwich City’s Championship kick-off at Oxford, after closing the book on his Austrian no show.

Celtic target Idah was disciplined and omitted from the squad who drew 2-2 against Hoffenheim last week, when he missed the team flight and was forced to make a solo dash to the club’s Scheffau training base.

The Republic of Ireland international’s second half entrance from the bench on Saturday against St Pauli was booed by a small section of home fans, with Idah heading down the tunnel at full-time as the rest of his team mates embarked on a lap of appreciation.

“Yes, he is (part of the plans for Oxford). And I definitely think it is (chapter closed),” said Thorup. “He had a good camp in Austria, where he came back into the group and of course it took some meetings also to make it very clear what we expect stepping into the start of the season and the rest of the transfer window.

“It looked like he was ready to do whatever it takes to accept his role but also accepting that he was not a part of the team against Hoffenheim. And that's how it is. Like I said to you in Austria we should expect it sometimes players stay a little bit out of what we can expect from them.

“It's important that we show that is not acceptable but it's also important that we show when the time is right they can get back into the group again. That's where Adam is.”

Idah has been linked with a return to Glasgow all summer, after a loan stint that landed a league and cup double.

The Bhoys begin their Scottish Premiership defence on Sunday at home to Kilmarnock, but the Parkhead outfit have yet to match City’s valuation for the 23-year-old, who has four years left on his current Carrow Road deal.
