Kenny McLean replaces Anis Ben Slimane for Norwich City's meeting with Plymouth Argyle this evening.

He returns from suspension to captain the Canaries in midfield, having missed their last four games in the Championship. Ben Chrisene also starts at left-back after Kellen Fisher picked up a one-game ban.

Ashley Barnes is in the matchday squad for the first time since May after recovering from a long-term Achilles injury, but head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup said he was fit only for a short cameo in his pre-match press conference.

Marcelino Nunez misses out again with the hamstring issues worsened in last month’s 1-1 draw with Stoke, but is expected to be fit for Luton’s Carrow Road visit on Saturday. Jose Cordoba could join him, but is absent this evening with the knee issue that kept him out of the 2-2 draw with West Brom three days ago.

Josh Sargent is unlikely to recover from his groin surgery before the new year, and Christian Fassnacht is omitted from the matchday squad.

Plymouth star man Morgan Whittaker misses out with injury, while former Norwich wide player Bali Mumba starts. Adam Forshaw is on the bench, 10 months after he left Carrow Road for the Pilgrims.
