Angus Gunn will be available for selection when Norwich City face West Brom on Saturday, head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup has revealed.
The Canaries number one has missed seven weeks of action after a side strain midway through their 4-0 win over Hull last month, but has recovered in time for that Baggies trip.
Thorup happily announced Gunn's return at his pre-match press conference, praising the goalkeeper and reiterating the pain of his absence in the last six games.
"Angus Gunn is available, Angus Gunn is back," said the 35-year-old. "He's an important player for us, he's an important player for the group. I think obviously before the injury he was performing at a high level.
"He'd just come from that very, very good performance in Derby, played the first half of the home game against Hull, but was performing well. So it was not good for anyone to have that injury. It's good to have him back."
City will also have experienced striker Ashley Barnes available, along with Onel Hernandez, Christian Fassnacht and Liam Gibbs. Thorup delivered bad news on key midfielder Marcelino Nunez, however, who will remain on the sidelines again.
"It's looking better," the Norwich boss continued. "Barnesy is back with the group, Gibbs is back with the group, Onel has been back, Fasi is with the group again.
"So we are getting there, slowly but we are getting there. It also creates a different scenario leading into the game on Saturday, because we have more options and we have more players available.
"It is [too early for Nunez]. What we'll do is we'll integrate him slowly with the group. Maybe just a little bit tomorrow, let him have a day off on the weekend, maybe have him in on Sunday and then nice and easily integrate him on Monday next week.
"So I think realistically we can start talking about game minutes for him on Saturday next week."
