QPR 2 Norwich City Women 1
Norwich City's promotion hopes took another hit as they suffered a second straight Women's National League Division One South East defeat at the hands of QPR.
The first half at Loftus Road was very cagey, with neither side managing to create any clear-cut opportunities. City midfielder Freya Symonds did force home goalkeeper Nicole Melling into a save with an effort from range, but that was the closest anybody came to opening the scoring before the break.
Less than 60 seconds into the second period, striker Grace Stanley took the ball past Sarah Quantrill and slotted it into an empty net to fire QPR into the lead, but they were in front for no more than 10 minutes.
City's equaliser was scored by defender Ceri Flye, who latched onto the loose ball and headed home from close range after Nicole Melling fumbled Lauren Tomlinson's corner.
However, the visitors failed to make the most of Flye's leveller and conceded what turned out to be the winning goal four minutes from time, with substitute Meila D’Santos lashing the ball past Quantrill for the hosts.
Norwich City: Quantrill (c), Flye, Strauss, Bishop, Daviss, Medd-Gill, Morran, Tomlinson, Kennard, Symonds, Shaw. Subs: Todd, Moore, Cook, Booty, Locker.
