Tim Walter is expecting a tough challenge as his Hull team bid to become the first opposition side to win against Norwich City at Carrow Road in 11 months on Saturday.

The Tigers arrive in Norfolk after stabilising a rocky start to the season. They have taken maximum points from their last three Championship matches, scoring 10 times in victories over Stoke, Cardiff, and QPR.

They are plotting further success against Johannes Hoff Thorup's improving Canaries this weekend.

Walter found himself under pressure following a slow start to life at Hull after replacing Liam Rosenior as boss in a controversial move during the off-season, but his team are beginning to show signs of progress after a hectic summer of change.

Saturday's game will be contested between two sides with near identical openings to the season, with Hull having conceded just one goal less than Norwich in the first eight matches of the campaign.

Walter has challenged his side to withstand a 'tough' test against a possession-orientated Norwich side under Johannes Hoff Thorup that will test his team defensively.

"They have a good squad, but for us, it’s the same: we want to travel and try to get three points. The players have a good mentality and the will to win and they have shown that three times in a row.

"It will hopefully be the next win. We are trying to win over there. It's not easy. It's a good team and will be a tough game," Walter told BBC Radio Humberside

We have analysed them and then we will see on Saturday which team is doing the whole thing a bit better than the other one, to keep the three points.

"They are really good with the ball and very comfortable in possession. We will try to bring our best performance on the pitch to work for the three points. This is the aim for Saturday.

"You have to be at a very high intensity to win the ball because they are so comfortable. We need to be more compact in our pressing, especially in our defence phase. It's a good way to show it and it's a good step to do."
