Norwich City have confirmed the departure of John Iga as Ben Knapper begins a reshuffle of the data department at the club.
Iga, who has served as the Canaries' head of data and innovation since 2021, has exited the club with City advertising for a new head of football analytics responsible for leading in the strategy, design and operational delivery of analytical support to seek marginal gains.
That has involved Iga's exit after three years at the club when he was brought in by former sporting director Stuart Webber.
Iga has an impressive track record in the game, having previously worked at Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Football Association, and Huddersfield Town before his move to Carrow Road.
He is the latest department head to be reshuffled after Knapper's arrival, along with previous head coach David Wagner, head of football development Steve Weaver and members of the recruitment team.
Set piece coach Andrew Hughes also departed this summer to join newly promoted Premier League side Leicester City in a similar role under Steve Cooper, with Norwich thought to be closing in on naming his successor.
In a statement released on Friday night, City confirmed that Iga had departed the club by 'mutual agreement' before adding 'The club would like to place on record its gratitude to John for his hard work and commitment. We wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.'
Knapper, along with joint majority shareholder Mark Attanasio, are keen for City to pursue a more data-driven approach to their football operations, including to enhance performance, recruitment and player development.
