David Wagner is ready to take Norwich City's play-off chase down to the wire if Ipswich Town fail to do them a favour against Hull tonight.
A 2-2 draw against Swansea means the Canaries will require a hand from their arch-rivals to secure their place inside the top six. Otherwise, City will need to travel to Birmingham, who require final day points to survive after a draw with Huddersfield on Saturday, to book their spot in the play-offs.
Wagner bemoaned a lack of cutting edge post-match with Norwich leading 2-1 at the interval. They were unable to cash in on Gabriel Sara and Josh Sargent's first-half strikes with Matt Grimes netting from the spot to equal proceedings.
Norwich recorded 27 shots, saw Shane Duffy have two headers cleared off the line but failed to find that killer third goal that would have put the game beyond all reasonable doubt.
The point has done enough to move them up to fifth in the Championship table after West Brom were beaten 3-0 by Sheffield Wednesday. Irrespective of what happens tonight on Humberside, Norwich will head into the final day with it in their own hands.
"I think this didn't change whatever happens this afternoon (Norwich being in the driving seat). I think the one of other competitor is more worried more than, to be fair.
"We are able to consistently collect points at this stage of the season which is a strength. We are able to consistently perform at a high level, which is a strength. This only shows me that the players have the right mindset and are calm enough but focused enough to get it over the line.
"If this means we have to do this next weekend, then we do this next weekend."
Norwich will now need to wait for this evening's clash between Ipswich and Hull at the MKM Stadium (8pm kick off) to learn what they require, if anything, on the final day.
Asked if he would be watching that game tonight, City's boss replied: "Yes, I think so."
So to will plenty of Norwich supporters.
