Gabriel Sara has delivered a plea for unity after a fractious atmosphere in Norwich City's 4-2 win over Watford on Tuesday night.
Supporters reacted negativity to a double substitution made by David Wagner in the second half, greeting it with boos and cries of 'you don't know what you're doing'.
Sara's goal helped restore the lead after Yaser Asprilla's stunning equaliser soon after - with the debate rumbling on and Wagner calling on the boo boys to 'stay at home' instead of harming their play-off pursuit.
Unity will be a key component to any success they go on to enjoy in the Championship this season, and Sara, whilst sympathising with their frustrations, has reiterated the importance of staying together.
"Sometimes the fans aren't going to understand a few movements or things, but everything we have done is for the good of this team. Even when they didn't like it - it worked, and we won," he said.
"We have to stick together all the time. Sometimes it is hard, and we don't always play good football - but we can only do good things if we stay together.
"It's not just 11 players playing; it has to be the stadium together. When I support my team in Brazil, I am crazy on the sofa, so I understand it, but we are here for this club and the well-being of Norwich. This club is the most important thing for everyone. We have to stick together."
Norwich came through a difficult period to win the contest, with Sara's goal the turning point for them, finding another gear and ensuring it was all smiles come the final whistle.
"We had to keep our focus on the game," Sara said when asked about that period in the game. "We know that even when they didn't like it, if we could turn the game in our favour, then, in the end, everyone would be happy.
"We had to keep this in our mind. I know as a football fan that the game was not good and why they were not happy but I ask them to think about the fact we are here to fight and help this club.
"We are always thinking for the best for Norwich. They have supported us ever since I can. They have been unbelievable. The atmosphere has been so good. We have to keep moving forwards."
