Norwich City winger Jonathan Rowe is loving life after his first call-up to England’s under-20s.
The 20-year-old has been on top form for the Canaries, scoring five goals in his first five appearances of the season.
That’s resulted in the first international recognition of his career, with Joe Edwards’ development side set for a training camp next week.
Rowe’s enjoying every second at present, as he told official club channels.
“It’s a beautiful moment right now,” he said, “just all the feelings put together from this month. It feels like a reflection of my hard work I put in behind the scenes. I’m showing it on the pitch now, so I’m happy.
“I feel like when you go through hardship you realise that the winning feels a lot better. You really understand the difference between the two.
“It kind of reminds you to stay on top and never get back down to a low, so I’m happy.”
Rowe has formed a strong connection with City fans so far this season, but is keen to recognise those who stayed loyal to him during an extended injury lay-off last term.
The London native, who joined the club's academy aged 11, knows there's pressure on him to perform, but is taking things one step at a time as City's promotion push unfolds.
“I had a few individual supporters before this season, and I feel like they’ve always stuck by me and sent me messages even when I was injured," he continued. "Shout out to them.
“But I feel like now we’re back in the stadium, back in full flow, playing well, I feel like they (the club's fans) are getting behind us now. You can really feel the bond between us. It’s growing, so I’d like to see where that ends up.
“Obviously I don’t know how long I can keep the goalscoring streak going! But I’m going to try my best and see what happens. I literally just take it as it comes.”
