Bali Mumba has completed a permanent move to Plymouth Argyle from Norwich City in a transfer described as 'club record equalling' by the Devon club.

The full back has penned a four-year deal at Home Park for a similar fee to that which took Morgan Whittaker back to Plymouth worth around £1million plus add ons.

As reported by the Pink Un this morning, Norwich have sanctioned the move after being impressed with the progress made by new recruit Kellen Fisher since his arrival from Bromley.

Mumba returns to the club where he made 47 appearances in all competitions last season, playing a major role in their League One title triumph.

The move ends his three-year spell at Carrow Road after joining from Sunderland back in July 2020.

Mumba made just nine appearances for the Canaries during his time at the club, as well as spending time away on loan at Peterborough and Plymouth.

Steven Schmaucher is delighted to welcome Mumba back to the club where he won the League One Young Player of the Season award last year - believing it is a signing to excite Argyle's fanbase.

“I am so thrilled to be able to bring Bali back to Argyle,” Schumacher told Plymouth's channels. “His pace, directness and positivity were huge parts of our success last season, and I know he was someone that the Green Army found tremendously exciting to watch. He gets fans off their seats – and I am sure they will be delighted to get to see him in green once again. I know I am!”

After his contribution to their promotion cause last season - director of football Neil Dewsnip added that the opportunity to bring Mumba back to the club was too good to turn down.

“Bali contributed so much for us last season, and we have worked very hard to bring him back to the football club.

“Following the signing of Morgan Whittaker earlier this week, the investment into talented, upwardly mobile, young footballing talent continues with Bali coming in.

“We have matched the club-record fee that we paid for Morgan, and I would like to thank Simon Hallett, Andrew Parkinson and the board for backing us, as we ensure that we build a squad fit for the Championship.”
