Jordan Hugill has completed a permanent move away from Norwich City by signing for Championship side Rotherham United.
The experienced forward joins the Millers for an undisclosed fee and has penned a three-and-a-half-year deal at the New York Stadium.
Hugill signed for City in an initial £2.5m deal from West Ham United in 2020 and made 44 appearances during his time in Norfolk, scoring on six occasions.
David Wagner informed Hugill that he didn't fit into his striking plans moving forward, with the German putting his faith in Teemu Pukki, Josh Sargent and Adam Idah for their Championship campaign.
Norwich were also keen to offload Hugill's wages, as well as the striker intensifying his own search for consistent first-team football as he entered the final six months of his deal in Norfolk.
Rotherham have been long-term admirers of Hugill and have beaten off heavy competition to secure the services of the 30-year-old. Matt Taylor's side are hoping to beat the drop this season.
Hugill becomes the latest City player to leave the club, following Todd Cantwell who signed for Rangers earlier this week and Tyrese Omotoye, who joined League One strugglers Forest Green Rovers.
City's sporting director Stuart Webber paid tribute to Hugill's service at Carrow Road via the club's official channels, despite largely playing second fiddle to Teemu Pukki.
“Jordan has been a great professional since the day he walked through the door. We wish him and his family well in this next step.
“Jordan played an important role in our promotion from the Sky Bet Championship two seasons ago and has proven to be a great support for Teemu Pukki during his time with us.
“We all wish Jordan the very best with his move. He’ll always be welcome back at both the Lotus Training Centre and Carrow Road.”
Hugill took to his own social media channels to send his appreciation to Norwich, writing via his Twitter feed: "@NorwichCityFC - Just wanted to say thank you, you’ve given me some of my best memories in football.
"I’ve met some of the best people at this club, who I’ll never forget. I may not have played as much as I wanted to but I’ve always pushed for more while I wore the shirt. Thank you💛"
