Palmeiras youngster Pedro Lima is reportedly on Norwich City's radar.

The 20-year-old midfielder, who scored the winner for his club's Under-20s on Tuesday to help them reach the final of the Brasileirão Under-20s, is tipped for a loan move to Europe in the coming weeks.

Sao Paulo-based media outlet, Nosso Palestra, tweeted to their 87,000 followers on Wednesday City are exploring a potential one season loan opportunity.

NP claim Lima is ready to head to England if the clubs reach an agreement. The midfielder has 18 months left on his current Palmeiras deal, with the Sao Paulo club reportedly in talks over a contract extension until 2025.

Lima and his advisors held talks with Palmeiras officials in recent days on his future, but the youngster is not seen as part of his club's senior plans for the rest of this season.

He was touted with a loan move, with a buy option, to Portuguese second tier outfit Academico de Viseu earlier this summer, but according to NP that fell through due to 'fan pressure'.

The defensive midfielder is yet to appear in the Brazilian Serie A championship, but did feature for 27 minutes in the 3-1 Copa Libertadores defeat to Bolivar La Paz in April.

Norwich have established a scouting network in south America that has seen Gabby Sara and Marcelino Nunez make the move to England in the past 12 months or so.

City head coach David Wagner made it clear, towards the end of pre-season, he felt Norwich had completed their incoming permanent business at senior level.

That remains the position, barring a potential departure for Andrew Omobamidele between now and the end of the current transfer window.

ESPN Brazil are reporting that Lima will link up with City's development squad initially, but the 'ambition' will be that the midfielder can force his way into Wagner's first-team plans before the end of the campaign.

Tim Krul's move to Luton Town is expected to be rubber stamped later on Wednesday, with Millwall's experienced keeper George Long earmarked as his replacement on a free transfer.

Wagner did use the loan market in January to bring in Arsenal's Brazilian youngster, Marquinhos.

City continue to recruit this summer for their development pool, with defender Guilherme Montoia the latest addition in recent days following his exit from Benfica.
