Norwich City full-back Sam McCallum is the subject of interest from Championship rivals Swansea, according to reports.

The BBC have claimed that McCallum is an option for the Welsh side as they look to add to their left-back department.

Liam Manning, a regular starter in the position last season, departed to join Russell Martin at Southampton this summer, leaving right-footed Josh Key on the left for their season opener against Birmingham.

Swans manager Michael Duff confirmed following that 1-1 draw that he was looking for a Manning replacement, saying: "That's the thing we don't have at the minute.

"Josh Key got into some really good areas, I thought he was fantastic, his attitude and application was top drawer.

"But he's a right-footed player and the goal probably tells you why we need some lefties in the building."

The report also claims that Swansea have placed a bid for Excelsior's wing-back Nathan Tjoe-A-On, who has entered the final year of his contract with the Dutch side.

If that attempt fails they could turn to McCallum, however, who has fallen behind Dimitris Giannoulis in the pecking order at Carrow Road.

The 22-year-old had begun to feature ahead of the Greek as the Canaries' 2022-23 campaign drew to a close, but was sent off when Martin brought his Swansea side to NR1 in April.

Giannoulis started both of the subsequent fixtures last season, before playing regularly throughout pre-season and starting the 2-1 win over Hull on Saturday.

He's been linked with Russian sides Spartak Moscow and Dynamo Moscow, but is happy at the club and looks set to stay in David Wagner's squad.

Bali Mumba, who has often featured at left wing-back in his career, was sold to Plymouth Argyle this summer after failing to impress Wagner during pre-season.

Young full-back Kellen Fisher was on City's bench for that Hull victory, but has only featured on the right side since signing from Bromley early in the transfer window.

Midfielder Jacob Sorensen, who is currently absent with a groin injury, has covered at left-back previously.

Swansea have not yet made an approach to the Norfolk club, it is understood.
