David Wagner's side are hoping to build on a positive and unbeaten pre-season campaign by making a winning start in front of their fanbase.

After a dismal end to last season that saw them win just one game in 11 matches, it feels imperative for the mood music around NR1 to start well - if only for head coach Wagner.

Norwich finished 13th in the table last season and have prioritised experience and mentality as they search for an improvement after a frustrating conclusion last term.

New signings Ashley Barnes, Jack Stacey, Shane Duffy and Christian Fassnacht are poised to make their official City debuts this afternoon. Borja Sainz is continuing his rehabilitation from an ankle injury but is hoping to be back in the next few weeks.

Also missing this afternoon will be midfielder Jacob Sorensen who has suffered groin issues over pre-season and defenders Jon Tomkinson and Grant Hanley.

City concluded their preparations with a 2-0 victory over Greek side Olympiacos last weekend courtesy of goals from Kenny McLean and Josh Sargent. Norwich visited Germany, the Netherlands and Austria - conceding just three times.

Hull arrive at Carrow Road also hoping to better a bottom half finish last season and have added five new additions including Brighton striker Aaron Connolly and Manchester City attacker Liam Delap to their ranks.

They also enjoyed an unbeaten warm-up campaign that included an impressive 4-3 victory over Turkish champions Galatasaray and concluded with a 1-1 draw against Ligue 1 side Nantes at the KCOM Stadium.

Norwich beat Hull 3-1 on Valentine's Day when the pair met at Carrow Road last season.
